Since I set up a business to display targeted banners on the BBQ ADS banner network, my clients needed banners.  In the beginning I had three graphic artists working with me.  Whenever one of my clients needed a banner ad made, I would contact the work out to these artists.  The problem was that all of them wanted to charge my clients too much money.  As part of the "Targeted Advertising" program I wanted to provide my clients with low cost but good banners.  In my advertising business I wanted to provide every client with one free banner.  It was a really tough sale to talk these guys who wanted way too much money to make a banner, making free banners was just out of the question.

So I started making banners myself.  In the beginning I wasn't very good at making banners.   However, after making banners for my clients for several years I have quite respectable at designing banners.  As a matter of fact some of them are damn good.

I have discovered that there is a real art in making banner advertisements.   It's not easy because you have such a small canvas to create your masterpiece on.  The one golden rule of designing good banners is:  Your banner must ask a question.

The person viewing the banner must feel compelled to click on that banner because they want to find out what the banner is talking about.   Now there are other things to take into consideration in designing good banners but I'm not going to tell you all my secrets here.

As I stated before I give my advertising clients one free banner and I charge them the nominal fee of $35 for each banner after that.  These prices do go up if the client wants something really unusual and unique.
