If you own a web page and that web page is part of your business then you need to know if it's working or not working.  I don't care how good the web hosting service you have is or how reliable you think it is, things can go wrong.  If your web page is providing income to you then you need to know its status.  If your web page is down then it's costing you money.  I monitor my own web pages on my own servers with a monitor system I have installed on my servers.  If one of my web pages go down I am immediately notify by a text message and an email message that the web page in not reachable.  This is a service that you need and I provide this service for few pennies a day. 

This monitoring service checks all web pages every ten minutes and alerts you if needed.  It monitors important ports on your web page.  It check if your web page is reachable by ping your web page.  The most important thing is this monitor checks to be sure that web pages (http) are working.  If something goes wrong you get and email and or a text message sent to you. 

Then when the problem is resolved your notified again when these services start working again.  Your only other choice is to set in front of your computer keep checking your web page over and over again 24 hours a day.  But, wouldn't your time be better spent doing something like making money.
